A new year has started and a new board has been installed. So first we would like to introduce ourselves:

This new year brings a lot of activities again within our chapter, as well as national and international. We started the year with our Member Meeting (with the change of board) and the fantastic New year drinks together with the other JCI chapters in the Amsterdam area in café Mokum at the Leidseplein. January 28 Monthly drinks

Member meetingIt is time for our first Monthly Drinks in 2011! Friday the 28th of January will be the date. Location: Werck (Prinsengracht 277, Amsterdam) from 21:00. So, if you want to get to know your fellow (candidate) members better, come to the drinks. If you know someone that could be interested in JCI Amsterdam International, feel free to invite them as well.

February 5 World Trade Game gameleaders training

Member meetingWould you like to become a trainer to organize the JCI famous World Trade Game (WTG) and give lead to this realistic trade game? It is now possible! For the first time this year a gameleaders training will be given to (candidate) members of JCI, by JCI Bergsche Maas. It will be an active day with learning and getting to know other JCI members. This training will be in Dutch!

Date: February 5, from 9.00 – 17.00

Location: Hotel Restaurant De Koppelpaarden, Oude Kerkstraat 1, 4271 BB Dussen

Costs: € 85,- (incl. lunch, coffee and tea)

February 11 International Day

Member meetingJCI International Day, Friday February 11th. On this day an insight will be given about how JCI operates internationally and a preview will be given on the international events ahead. Furthermore the World President of JCI will attend the event.

Location: De Zilveren Toren (Stationsplein 51-53, Amsterdam), this is the building on the left of Amsterdam Central Station (when facing the station).

Member meetingAt the February member meeting, there will be a presentation and workshop of Tom Tom, the Dutch company which makes navigation systems for cars. The agenda is as follows:

May 12 - 15 European Capital Meeting in Tallinn, Estonia

Member meetingJCI Tallinn will be hosting one of the most inspiring and futuristic events of JCI Estonia history: the JCI European Capitals Meeting. Members of chapters in the capital cities in Europe will gather here to meet, exchange information and have fun. More info: http://ecm2011.jci.ee/ .

 

May 14 National Meeting (CvA) in Sneek

Member meetingFor those of you who don’t go to Tallinn, there is another option: the National Meeting in Sneek (Snits in Frysian, a place in the north of the country, with its own language), organized by JCI Ter Snaecke. The theme will be 'Waterrijk'. For more info: http://www.cvamei2011.nl/.

 

June 1 - 4 European Congress in Tarragona, Spain

Member meetingThis year the European Congress is organized by JCI Catalunya, in the historical city of Tarragona, near Barcelona, Spain. A great location near the beach, with a beautiful old city center. Around 2000 JCI members of Europe will gather here to meet (new) friends, enjoy workshops and trainings, and have lots of fun. If you sign up BEFORE FEBRUARY 1st, you pay the Early Bird fee. More information in the congress can be found at http://www.jciec2011.cat and http://www.ec2011tarragona.nl (only in Dutch). On the Dutch page information is given about the possibility of a pre-tour in the area around Tarragona.

JCI Amsterdam is organizing the trip for the Dutch delegation. Hotel rooms are blocked for us until the end of January. In our chapter Marion de Groot is coordinating the flights to Tarragona. Please contact (before the 1st of February) Marion de Groot: mlmdegroot@gmail.com.
